Manchester City FC – A Brief History
Manchester City Football Club was founded in 1880, and is one of the oldest clubs in the country. The club has experienced considerable success, winning the FA Cup five times, the League Cup four times, and becoming Premier League champions five times (2011, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2019). In addition to these successes, the club has also won the European Cup Winners' Cup (1970) and the UEFA Cup (1970).
Stadium & Facilities
Manchester City currently plays its home games at the Etihad Stadium, which opened in 2003. The stadium has a capacity of 55,097 and features state-of-the-art facilities, including the latest in pitch technology, HDTVs throughout the entire venue and an on-site gym. The club also operates a number of other facilities, including two football academies, a multi-purpose sports centre and two training grounds.

Current Manager
Manchester City is currently managed by Pep Guardiola, who took over in 2016. Guardiola has had tremendous success with the club, leading them to two Premier League titles and several other domestic trophies. He has also implemented an attractive, attacking style of play, which has been widely praised by pundits and fans alike.

Manchester City and their supporters have celebrated each and every one of their successes over the years, with raucous celebrations both inside and outside of the stadium. After the club won the Premier League title in 2011, a huge parade was held throughout the city, with tens of thousands of fans taking part in the celebrations.
